This book seems to serve as a philosophical postscript to Sr Levi’s previous writings in that it refers, and adds, to subjects and themes already covered in other books. Chapters follow on “Shame” survivor shamethe topic also of lvi of his most powerful poems, “The Survivor” “Il superstite” ; on “Communication”; on “Useless Violence”; on “The Intellectual at Auschwitz”; and on “Stereotypes”; and there is one in which he refers to a number of letters he had received from Germans and in which he analyzes the response to the Holocaust indicated or implied there.

Other books in the series. There are, according to Levi, those who obviously are pure victimizer or are pure victim. Very unfortunate to have to read this knowing full well that it isnt fiction The tattooing of the prisoner’s number on his or her arm is itself an example of this.
