A wonderful story that will satisfy anyone looking to know the background of “The Sly One”. As far as memory checks go, this was flawless. I’m looking forward to staying a while. Though it was new to me, it was very nostalgic. Any book that has him is a 5 star in my review. I gave the original series all 4s as I devoured them as a long-ago youth and Raistlin is one of my all-time memorable characters. On to Raistlin Chronicles 2 – Brothers in Arms.

I had fun, and fun can forgive much. Youth withers before those dragknlance, beauty fades, mountains crumble to dust.

The origin story of Raistlin Majere sheds light on a dark, but also very complicated character. To me it seems like they could have expanded on deagonlance piece and not had so much of the book dedicated to Caramon, Kitiara, Sturm, Tanis, Tasslehoff, and Soulforeg.
